The Secretary-General AIDLR Dr. Liviu Olteanu, meet Dean Hisae NAKANISHI and Director Ada TAGGAR-COHEN from Doshisha Kyoto University.


Kyoto, Japan. June 14, 2019

Dr. Liviu Olteanu, Secretary General of the AIDLR, has been invited to participate in an academic meeting at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, where he spoke with the University officials about religious freedom and the framework of the "Five Dialogue" launched internationally by the AIDLR. The meeting included exchanges and plans to establish cooperation between AIDLR and Doshisha University on topics such as monotheistic religions, religious freedom and its influence on peace and security. During this meeting Dr. Liviu Olteanu met with Prof. Dr. Hisae NAKANISHI, Dean and Professor of the Graduate School of Global Studies, Deputy Director of CISMOR, Doshisha University and with Prof. Dr. Ada TAGGAR-COHEN, Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Study of the Monotheistic Religions (CISMOR), Professor of Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Head of the Program of Jewish Studies at the Graduate School of Theology Doshisha University. Also during these meetings the current actions of Doshisha University have been jointly evaluated, specifically the academic work of CISMOR and the framework of the Five Dialogue of the AIDLR and the Global Summits on Religion, Peace and Security organized by the AIDLR with the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and responsibility to Protect. A common intention has been expressed to develop cooperation between AIDLR and Doshisha University of Kyoto and CISMOR on international challenges to religious freedom and religious minorities due to cultural and religious differences, crises, contemporary conflicts, and the need for harmony and peace for all.
